Together Strong
I don’t feel much like rejoicing, but here it is in black and white, “Keep on rejoicing.” Do I dare delight in weakness? Do I dare boast of a broken heart? Come in, Jesus! Come make a way where there is no way in me!

How do you keep breathing during profound sorrow? How do you put one foot in front of the other? Only God can turn our darkest moments into delight. Run to Jesus.
Are you in a season that feels like a long, dark winter? I’ve been there, too, my friend. There is a way through the barren seasons of the soul. Come hope with me?
Trouble is coming, but that’s not all! When the night is long with worry and the morning begins the same, remember to put first things first.
Winter has lingered long this year. Is there any evidence of spring? My weary soul has questions, but God has a question for me…

Profound wounds lead to prolonged sadness. I fight relentlessly for joy, though it often feels just beyond my reach. But grief is not my only companion. My constant is Christ. I hurt, and I am held by the heart of God. And so are you, my friend.
If your heart hurts…if thanks-feeling is painfully absent, you have an offering that’s perhaps the most beautiful of all.
Beloved, don’t be afraid of lament. Faithful God will meet you there. As sure as the sun will rise again, new morning mercies will light up the long, dark night of the soul. Hope will shine again.
